Install/Service/Field Service Technician
Summary: Seeking an Installation Technician with experience in assembly, hydraulics, 12v electrical systems, and fabrication to build vocational trucks according to project specifications and quality standards.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude with technical understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and equipment functions
- Knowledge of basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systems
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Technical college degree or completion of a structured on-the-job training program is desirable
- Minimum 2 years of experience in field service of heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to obtain a DOT card
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with reading blueprints, diagrams, and instructions
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and power tools
- Experience in hydraulic hose and fitting assembly, routing, and testing
- Knowledge of stop/start systems wiring and programming
- Ability to operate cutting tools such as saws, plasma cutters, and torches
- Understanding of pressure adjustments and relief mechanisms
- Mechanical design or practical experience in hydraulics, structural, or mechanical layout
- High level of mechanical aptitude in the commercial truck industry
Job Responsibilities:
- Build vocational trucks using assembly, hydraulic work, 12v electrical work, and fabrication skills
- Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams for accurate assembly
- Follow installation procedures while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Attend pre-installation meetings for project coordination
- Utilize measuring tools for precise component placement
- Read hydraulic and electrical schematics for proper hose and wire assembly
- Perform system setup and testing
- Conduct minor welding and fabrication tasks, form metals, and use appropriate power tools
- Make recommendations for process improvements
- Complete field service tasks for heavy equipment
- Obtain and maintain DOT certification as required
Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
