HW Electrical Engineer
Summary:
Designs, integrates, and tests Electro-Optic products for military vehicles, including concept development, design verification testing (DVT), prototype builds, and qualification testing.
Job Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must work 100% onsite in Sterling Heights, MI.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Must meet ASR (size/height/weight) requirements to fit in military vehicles.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with IPC and MIL standards.
- Digital and analog circuit design.
- Experience with gyroscopes, encoders, and cameras.
- Development of component and subsystem requirements.
- Model-based motion control and motion control loops.
- Experience with PWM and PID control.
- Use of various test equipment, including power supplies, oscilloscopes, function generators, and DACs.
- Experience with power, thermal analysis, timing, biasing, voltage and current control, LED control, and data packet deciphering.
- Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layout.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, MATHCAD, Mentor Graphics Schematic Capture, CAMView, or CAM350.
- Experience with microprocessor-based products, including processors, chipsets, memory, and networking standards (PCI-Express, DDR2, DDR3, USB, SATA, DVI).
- Experience with microcontrollers, including IDEs, configuration, coding, and programming (NXP family experience preferred).
- Knowledge of industry interface standards and form factors (VITA42/46, COM Express, ETX).
- Familiarity with serial interconnects (USB, CAN, RS422/485).
- Experience with graphics and video interfaces (SDI, DVI, HDMI, RS-170).
- Understanding of EMI/EMC design practices and standards.
- Experience with optical hardware and testing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Integrate Electro-Optic products for military vehicles, including gunner’s and commander’s sights, auxiliary sights, control panels, vision systems, resolvers, encoders, gyros, accelerometers, and meteorological sensors.
- Design subsystems and components to meet vehicle performance, human factors, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Conduct circuit design, component selection, and analysis for commercial and military Electro-Optical systems.
- Develop custom Electro-Optical components, key characteristics, and specifications.
- Review and develop hardware and software requirement documents and test plans.
- Provide support for prototype and production vehicle builds, including troubleshooting and technical corrective actions.
- Track design changes, debug status, and hardware/software revisions.
- Perform testing and evaluation of Electro-Optical components.
Pay Details: $80.00 to $85.00 per hour
