Summary: Seeking a Software Configuration Management Analyst III with extensive VMware experience for managing and maintaining virtual environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Minimum two-days per week onsite requirement at DOT HQ, Washington DC.

  • Support server infrastructure in a 24x7 on-call escalation capacity as part of a team rotation.

  • Install and configure vCenter Server.

  • Configure, manage, and maintain ESXi cluster servers.

  • Setup and configure HA, vMotion, and DRS.

  • Configure Datacenters, clusters, resource pools, VMs, and virtual switching.

  • Monitor health of VMs operating in various data centers.

  • Manage replications and VM movements between data centers.

  • Manage disaster recovery of the virtualized environment using SRM.

  • Support VMware management tools (e.g., Aria Operations, Log Insight).

  • Install, configure, and manage VDI solutions utilizing VMware Horizon.

  • Collaborate with Lead to identify solution options for meeting requirements.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot server systems (Windows, Linux).

  • Perform security hardening, patching, and server certificate updates.

  • Develop documentation for System Installation Plans and System Administration Guides.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience

  • Ability to install and configure vCenter Server

  • Experience with ESXi cluster servers

  • Experience monitoring the health of VMs in various data centers

  • Experience with VMware Horizon View, VMware vCenter, vSphere Client/Web Client

  • Knowledge of multi-vendor server operating systems

  • Experience in enterprise Windows environment operations/maintenance (O&M)

  • Working knowledge using/configuring Windows Distributed File System/CIFS

  • Experience in fast tempo ITSM support environment

-Vmware certification VCP/VCAP or VDI Certification

Preferred Skills:

-Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform or Ansible

-Familiarity with DISA STIG/CIS Benchmark guidelines for Microsoft Windows servers

 

 

 

 



Pay Details: $45.00 to $54.00 per hour
