Space Suit Sewing Technician

Summary: Seeking a Space Suit Sewing Technician with expertise in industrial sewing machines and experience in aerospace applications.

Job Requirements:

• Proficient in using Straight Stitch (single and double needle), Walking Foot, Bartack, Buttonhole, and 3 Thread Rolled Hem Serger.

• Skilled in reading soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings.

• Capable of fabricating soft-goods patterns.

• Ability to sew materials by hand or machine to very tight tolerances.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 5 years of experience in industrial sewing and highly detailed sewing required.

Preferred Skills:

• 10+ years of sewing experience in aerospace applications.

• Experience sewing on space flight programs and products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sew materials by hand or machine to join, gather, reinforce, or decorate articles.

• Cut materials according to specifications using blade, scissors, or electric knife.

• Examine and measure finished articles for conformance to standards.

• Fold or fit together materials for machine or hand sewing.

• Mount attachments like needles and adjust machine guides as per specifications.

• Record processed material amounts in production logs.

• Maintain equipment by replacing needles and cleaning/oiling machines.

Pay Details: $22.00 to $29.00 per hour
