Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Designer with expertise in sheet metal, aerospace or ship designing, and proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Job Requirements:

  • Five years of mechanical design experience required

  • Experience using SolidWorks and some AutoCAD required

  • At least 3 years of SolidWorks experience in mechanical application

  • Experience using MS Office required

  • Familiar with military and industry standards including ASME-Y14.5, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, MIL-STD-31000B, MIL-STD-973, and D1.1 Structural Welding Code

  • Must be a Permanent US resident or US citizen

Preferred Skills:

  • Able to speak Spanish is a plus

  • Able to obtain security clearance is a plus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for compliance with applicable standards

  • Document welding and design processes using D1.1 Structural Welding Code and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Modify existing designs to improve manufacturability and efficiency

  • Design new products for new and existing vehicle platforms

  • Document analyses to show compliance with requirements

  • Resolve technical, operational, and quality issues

  • Develop work instructions for engineering and production processes

  • Create and update technical drawings using SolidWorks/AutoCAD

  • Develop military technical drawings per relevant standards

  • Produce 3D models from 2D documentation or actual equipment

 

 

 

 



Pay Details: $38.00 to $51.00 per hour
