Controls Engineer
Summary: Seeking a Controls Engineer with expertise in Siemens PLCs for a 6-month contract involving design, development, and commissioning of automation equipment.
Job Requirements:
-
Bachelor's degree in mechatronics, controls, electrical or equivalent
-
5+ years of controls engineering experience
-
In-depth knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A)

In-depth knowledge of Safety standards (ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA)
- Advanced proficiency in programming industrial equipment: Safety PLCs (Allen Bradley & Siemens), HMI/GUI (Allen Bradley, Siemens & Ignition), Field bus Networks (Ethernet IP, ProfiNet), Ethernet communications

Demonstrated excellence in programming PLCs

Well-defined methodology for maintaining code structure and organization

Ability to program state machines for complex processes involving multi-station parallel processing, pick and place automation, data acquisition, and PID control

Proven ability to design fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery
Job Responsibilities:
-
Contribute to the design and development of new automation equipment and assembly lines
-
Create robust system architecture to support concepts
-
Program all controls components such as PLCs, safety devices, HMI, servo drives from power-on to debug and validation

Work with cross-functional teams throughout product life cycle

Lead a small team of controls engineers and collaborate with Product Design Engineering, Quality, Production and Maintenance teams

Participate in initial equipment conceptual development balancing specifications, process control requirements, layout complexity, cost, quality and lead-time limits

Architect, write and debug PLC ladder logic ensuring organized and maintainable code interaction with subsystems like conveyors, robots, MES systems
Pay Details: $33.00 to $50.00 per hour
