Fiber optics Component Technician

Summary: Seeking a Fiber Optic Technician to assist in the development and fabrication of high-power fiber lasers for medical, industrial, and other specific applications.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years work experience in fiber optics with an emphasis on lasers

• Ability to utilize drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas, and precision measuring instruments

• Compliance with laser safety standards and regulations

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor of Science in Physics, Engineering or Optics

• Specialized skills in equipment controls, circuit design, database systems, and/or automation

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist engineering team in the development of high-power fiber lasers for medical product growth

• Work independently on development projects as directed by engineering leads

• Design and perform tests on optical components and lasers to ensure conformance to design specifications

• Document development process and present findings to team members

• Support ongoing process development and prototype manufacturing

• Provide training and procedures for transferring newly developed products to manufacturing

Pay Details: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour
