Job Summary:
Plastic Manufacturing Supervisor responsible for overseeing equipment setup, production processes, and operator training in a plastic manufacturing environment.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in plastic manufacturing.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Knowledge of press operations and shop mathematics.
  • Ability to operate forklift, hoist, and various department equipment.
  • Capability to perform extensive climbing and bending activities.
  • Knowledge of various types of plastic resins, compounds, and drying techniques.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with quality assurance measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with SPC and press check procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up department equipment and machinery, including secondary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and production issues.
  • Schedule work for operators and provide training and guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and department policies.
  • Perform first shot approvals using quality assurance measuring equipment.
  • Monitor and review production and labor reports.
  • Supervise maintenance of cleanliness in the department.
  • Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a clean work area.
  • Operate equipment as needed and clean filters, grinders, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Set up molds and make adjustments following Work Instructions or D.O.P.s.
  • Maintain molds, clean them in chemical solutions, and perform blasting and cold jet procedures.
  • Examine molds for wear and defects, and forward them to the tool room for repair.
  • Perform SPC and press checks at required intervals.
  • Update D.O.P.s for the department.
  • Assist press operators on production runs, resolve problems, and document discrepancies for supervisors and engineering.


Pay Details: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
