CNC Machine Operator / Programmer (2nd shift)
Summary: Seeking a CNC Machine Operator/Programmer for second shift operations, offering hands-on experience with CNC machinery and programming to produce precision parts.
Job Requirements:
High/Vocational school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of basic shop math, blueprint reading, and inspection tools
Ability to set up and operate various CNC machining and turning centers
Proficiency in performing tool offsets, program edits, and adjustments to meet print specifications
Capability to perform first piece part inspection and maintain SPC Data for each part
Experience in moving parts to the next operation area as per routing
Preferred Skills:
For non-programmers: 3-5 years' experience with CNC machines such as Mori Seki, Bridgeport, Nichols Horizontal millers, or lathe machines
For programmers: 5+ years of machine shop experience with specialized training in math, trigonometry, complex blueprint reading, and machine programming
Job Responsibilities:
Without Programming Experience:
Set up and operate CNC machining/turning centers; select proper materials as indicated on shop orders
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators; ensure all parts meet print tolerance
Assist less experienced operators with setups; maintain a clean and safe work area
With Programming Experience:
Program machining sequences using various types of CNC equipment to manufacture complete parts from drawings
Fabricate components/assemblies complete to print tolerance using machinery like CNC millers/lathes
Devise/fabricate specialized fixtures for operations; inspect machined components using necessary equipment
General Responsibilities (Both):
Conduct daily maintenance on equipment; assist with area upkeep
Participate in general safety training and hazardous waste handling/control
Physical Demands:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend and regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
Work Environment:
Combination of manufacturing and office settings with regular exposure to noise, dust, heat/cold, odors
Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
