Summary:
Responsible for designing major components, functional systems, or advanced prototypes, improving products, and facilitating manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with design standards and specifications.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred in Mechanical Engineering)
  • Minimum of 3 years of Design Engineering experience
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
  • Experience with 3D modeling and detailed design (preferred knowledge of CREO version 9)
  • CREO design and modeling experience required
  • Experience using Windchill

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Active secret clearance a plus; ability to obtain required

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design major components, functional systems, prototypes, and promotional products
  • Develop and improve products while facilitating manufacturing operations
  • Create preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes for design proposals
  • Investigate design factors such as manufacturability, material availability, interchangeability, strength-weight efficiency, and cost
  • Coordinate with other departments affected by design development
  • Produce layouts for assemblies, mechanisms, structures, and products
  • Review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, and accuracy
  • Identify design errors, omissions, and deficiencies, recommending necessary revisions
  • Work within a first-shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST


Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
