Jr. Equipment Engineer
Summary:
Support and maintain equipment reliability, process control automation, and technology development initiatives in a biotech/pharma environment, focusing on upstream cell culture or downstream purification processes.
Requirements:
- B.S. in a scientific field (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- Experience working with equipment in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting (entry-level candidates considered)
- Background in upstream cell culture or downstream purification
- Familiarity with bioreactors and chromatography
Preferred Skills:
- Instrumentation experience
- Preventative maintenance knowledge
- Automation background (DeltaV or Finesse controllers)
- Process monitoring or trending experience
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the system owner for assigned equipment to ensure reliability and performance
- Develop and maintain process control automation solutions for Finesse and DeltaV controllers in the Next Generation Lab
- Coordinate projects for equipment modification and improvement
- Perform data trend analysis to identify and proactively manage performance trends
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are successfully implemented
- Create and maintain a critical spare parts list for systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot performance trends and equipment reliability issues
- Support new product introductions and implementation of new equipment and technologies
- Monitor and improve effectiveness of continuous improvement projects
- Initiate, review, and approve changes to operating procedures and EHS change control processes
- Identify and implement engineering-based improvements or upgrades to process equipment, including design requirements, options analysis, installation, startup, and qualification
- Design, execute, implement, and lead engineering or process projects
- Collaborate with various functions and contribute to investigations
Pay Details: $27.00 to $26.00 per hour
