Payroll Specialist
Summary:
Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements, manage certified payroll processing, maintain accurate payroll records, and stay updated on federal and state regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and compliance
- 2+ years of experience in prevailing wage payroll processing and certified payroll reporting
- Understanding of prevailing wage laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act and IRA-specific regulations
- Proficiency in payroll software and certified payroll systems
- Experience with LCP Tracker software is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Strong knowledge of "Bona-Fide" fringe benefits under DBRA, including life insurance, health insurance, pension, and vacation benefits
- Experience working with prime and subcontractors to ensure compliance with wage regulations
- Ability to analyze payroll data and ensure accuracy in reporting
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all laborers and mechanics employed by contractors or subcontractors on IRA-funded projects receive wages that meet or exceed prevailing rates determined by the Department of Labor
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports to relevant government agencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain comprehensive records of payroll data, including employee information, wage rates, and job classifications
- Review certified payrolls and address any delinquent submissions
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and maintaining organized payroll records
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to prevailing wage requirements
- Stay informed about changes in prevailing wage laws and regulations, including IRA-specific updates, and implement necessary compliance updates
- Perform other duties as assigned related to payroll compliance and reporting
Pay Details: $32.00 to $43.00 per hour
