Electrical Design Engineer
Design, test, and support low-voltage electrical systems, harnesses, and controls for transportation applications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and document wire harnesses, including creating harness drawings and schematics using Visio or SolidWorks Electrical.
- Size wiring, fuses, and electrical components based on circuit and industry requirements.
- Build wire harnesses for production, bench testing, and R&D support.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and conduct on-vehicle testing and prototyping.
- Work with diagnostic tools such as multimeters, test lights, and PCAN or other CAN-tracing software.
- Support the service team over the phone with field issues.
- Create new part files using supplier models for purchased components.
- Develop CAD assemblies, mate components, and generate detailed drawing files with BOMs.
- Integrate electrical systems with control software and hardware.
Job Requirements:
- Familiarity with low-voltage DC electrical systems (12V, 24V).
- Experience working with common connectors, including Deutsch DT, DTM, HDP series, and Aptiv Weather-Pack and Metri-Pack series.
- Knowledge of CANBUS protocols (J1939, CANopen).
- Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Codesys software and IFM hardware.
- Knowledge of ladder logic and function block programming.
- Experience with CAD systems for electrical design and documentation.
- Controls knowledge for embedded or vehicle systems.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
