Siemens TIA Portal Controls Engineer
Designs and commissions industrial control systems, developing PLC and HMI software, and ensures successful system startup and commissioning in various industrial environments.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, including PLC/HMI programming
- 3+ years of recent Siemens PLC (Step7 or TIA Portal) and HMI programming experience
- Experience with other PLC platforms (Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi) is beneficial
- Familiarity with field bus networks (DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet)
- Ability to program and write PLC code/ladder logic from scratch
- Knowledge of hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E, or ePlan is a plus
- Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning
- Experience working within customer-defined programming standards and templates
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, install, and debug PLC/HMI code for industrial control systems
- Program peripheral devices and machine PLCs for various automation projects
- Conduct on-site system commissioning, including system power-up, debug, and validation
- Ensure system designs meet customer specifications using standardized techniques
- Travel to customer sites for installation, startup, and troubleshooting of systems
Preferred Education:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering)
- Equivalent years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Pay Details: $33.00 to $44.00 per hour
