Supplier Quality Engineer
Seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead product qualification activities, manage supplier non-conformance issues, and drive quality improvements across the supply chain for aero-derivative gas turbine components.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead product and process qualification (PPQ) activities at supplier sites.
- Contain, manage, and resolve quality issues related to supplier non-conforming components identified at assembly facilities, warehouses, or customer locations globally.
- Manage suppliers to ensure proper handling and resolution of non-conformance issues.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance product quality and supplier performance.
- Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem resolution processes.
- Investigate and resolve manufacturing capability issues within the supply chain to maintain business continuity.
- Identify and support cost reduction opportunities in collaboration with the Supply Chain and Strategic Business teams.
- Audit existing and potential suppliers to assess manufacturing capability and ensure quality systems are in place.
- Develop supplier capabilities to meet current and future production requirements.
- Interact with customer-facing teams to investigate and resolve potential product non-conformance issues.
Job Requirements:
- Technical training or further education in quality, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO9001), Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and Quality Control routines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with critical parts in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience applying quality improvement tools and processes such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Ishikawa.
- SAP experience for managing supplier quality data and processes.
Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
