Mechanical Commodity Buyer

Responsible for supporting the Purchasing organization by executing strategic sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation activities aligned with Commodity Roadmaps and global strategies.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Purchasing role, preferably in an automotive environment.
• Strong knowledge of the automotive supplier market.
• At least 2 years of experience with plastic and metal raw materials preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in sourcing, sourcing decisions, negotiations, and strategic analysis.
• Familiarity with managing a supply base within the automotive sector.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Commodity Roadmaps and global strategies at the local level.
• Participate in Category Director meetings to support global strategy alignment.
• Perform strategic sourcing analyses, including cost analysis, supplier market evaluation, and risk assessments.
• Develop and align the supply base with Commodity Roadmaps, focusing on supplier growth, consolidation, and resourcing.
• Conduct commercial negotiations with local and global suppliers as directed by leadership.
• Manage supplier files, component files, RFQs, contract reviews, and related documentation.
• Support supplier improvement initiatives and assume Lead Buyer responsibilities when required.
• Address supplier escalation issues for Non-Conforming Material (NCM) and supplier scorecards.
• Report key metrics as required by the Purchasing Manager.

Pay Details: $36.00 to $48.00 per hour
