Mechanical Commodity Buyer
Responsible for supporting the Purchasing organization by executing strategic sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation activities aligned with Commodity Roadmaps and global strategies.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Purchasing role, preferably in an automotive environment.
- Strong knowledge of the automotive supplier market.
- At least 2 years of experience with plastic and metal raw materials preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in sourcing, sourcing decisions, negotiations, and strategic analysis.
- Familiarity with managing a supply base within the automotive sector.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Commodity Roadmaps and global strategies at the local level.
- Participate in Category Director meetings to support global strategy alignment.
- Perform strategic sourcing analyses, including cost analysis, supplier market evaluation, and risk assessments.
- Develop and align the supply base with Commodity Roadmaps, focusing on supplier growth, consolidation, and resourcing.
- Conduct commercial negotiations with local and global suppliers as directed by leadership.
- Manage supplier files, component files, RFQs, contract reviews, and related documentation.
- Support supplier improvement initiatives and assume Lead Buyer responsibilities when required.
- Address supplier escalation issues for Non-Conforming Material (NCM) and supplier scorecards.
- Report key metrics as required by the Purchasing Manager.
Pay Details: $36.00 to $48.00 per hour
