Substation Electrical Design Engineer
Responsible for the design and development of electrical substations, including physical layout, equipment specifications, protection and control systems, and associated civil/structural elements.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in substation design or related fields.
- Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor 3D, and Autodesk Vault.
- Knowledge of substation protection and control systems, including relay settings and SCADA integration.
- Experience with high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) substation components and systems.
- Familiarity with steel and aluminum structural design and detailing.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in creating and maintaining 3D models and assemblies using Inventor.
- Understanding of standard structural shapes and tapered tubular sections.
- Experience in substation project coordination with fabricators and customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and detail steel and aluminum structures for substations using AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Create 3D models, 3D assemblies, shop drawings, and field assembly drawings.
- Maintain electronic CAD files using Autodesk Vault.
- Follow general arrangement drawings, equipment support details, and in-house detailing standards.
- Coordinate document releases with office staff and communicate with fabricators and customers.
- Collaborate with engineers and senior designers to ensure project alignment and completion.
- Apply detailing standards and practices to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
