Job Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas.
- 5-20 years of experience with a strong work history.
- Proficiency in specifying LV and MV transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and variable frequency drives.
- Experience with industrial power system analysis using SKM tools or equivalent modeling software.
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and API standards, including sections on hazardous location electrical installations and area classification.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in shop and field testing of switchgear and motor control center equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of power studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, motor starting, and arc flash).
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate electrical engineering for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil and gas industries.
- Apply design expertise in medium and low voltage power distribution, grounding, lighting, motor control, variable frequency drive, and equipment specification and selection.
- Conduct power studies to define requirements for industrial plant distribution facilities.
- Interact with engineering disciplines, project managers, equipment suppliers, and clients.
- Review and approve electrical design deliverables, including wiring diagrams, one-line diagrams, electrical area classification plans, and power and control cable schedules.
- Develop scopes of work, design milestones, staffing schedules, and engineering man-hour estimates.
- Provide prompt notification to supervision and project management for issues impacting scope, budget, and schedule.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure effective communication and coordination for project deliverables.
- Coordinate design details with other disciplines and project managers.
- Apply standard engineering design principles and research design options where necessary.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $54.00 per hour
