Structural Engineer Job Posting

Seeking a qualified structural engineer with extensive experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional structural system design.

Job Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • Licensed professional engineer (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in structural system design (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, PEMB, and light gauge steel) and structural investigations
  • Working knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects

Preferred Skills

  • Leadership capabilities for overseeing entry-level engineers and technicians
  • Proficiency in producing structural design drawing packages
  • Ability to generate project-specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
  • Competence in generating written reports such as project scope definitions, existing condition assessments, schematic design narratives, and investigations

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee entry-level engineers and technicians
  • Participate in project design team and client meetings
  • Interface with other design trades as required for project completion
  • Perform site visits to existing facilities for information gathering on existing conditions for renovation/addition projects
  • Perform and/or provide direction for system choice, analysis, and calculations as required by project
  • Responsible for production of structural design drawing packages (plans, construction details, notes, etc.)
  • Generate project-specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
  • Generate written reports such as project scope definition, existing condition assessments, schematic design narratives, and investigations
  • Perform construction contract administration services, including answering RFIs, review of submittals, and field assessments
  • Periodic travel required for site visits and client meetings


Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
