Hardware Designer
Summary: Seeking a Hardware Designer to assist with increased CAD work, specializing in designing control panels and hardware using AutoCAD Electrical and Eplan.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in technical/engineering discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 5+ years of relevant controls hardware design experience
- Strong experience with AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan; preference for both
- Ability to design hardware and control panels from scratch
- Prior experience leading small teams is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- PLC Programming experience helpful but not required
Responsibilities:
- Create electrical drawing packages from scratch and using customer standards
- Ensure completeness of hardware design prior to build, reducing debug phases
- Perform calculations for load, heat, power, and transfer loads for transformers
- Familiarity with ARC Flash calculations
- Follow standards and specifications for controls hardware design
- Read and understand electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic drawings for print design
- Implement safety concepts during the design phase (NFPA79, UL508)
- Provide accurate Bill of Materials adhering to specifications or document deviations
- Support manufacturing during startup and integration phases
- Generate machine lockout placards based on specifications and best practices
- Assist software designer in understanding hardware architecture and designs
Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
