Substation Engineer

Summary: Seeking Substation Engineers with expertise in substation engineering design, focusing on physical and protection & control practices for high voltage systems.

• Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in substation engineering design
  • Licensed professional engineer for senior positions or ability to obtain within one year
  • Familiarity with electrical relays and metering in substations at 138kV and above
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, per-unit mathematics, and symmetrical components

• Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in relay coordination
  • Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards

• Responsibilities:

  • Create design documents and drawings including wiring diagrams and bills of materials
  • Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden calculations and load flow studies
  • Apply engineering software for ground grid design and transformer sizing
  • Review project schedules to ensure timely completion
  • Supervise project activities and coordinate with project engineers and clients
  • Conduct site visits for hands-on knowledge of substation construction

Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
