Substation Engineer
Summary: Seeking Substation Engineers with expertise in substation engineering design, focusing on physical and protection & control practices for high voltage systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in substation engineering design
- Licensed professional engineer for senior positions or ability to obtain within one year
- Familiarity with electrical relays and metering in substations at 138kV and above
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, per-unit mathematics, and symmetrical components
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in relay coordination
- Knowledge of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI standards
Responsibilities:
- Create design documents and drawings including wiring diagrams and bills of materials
- Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden calculations and load flow studies
- Apply engineering software for ground grid design and transformer sizing
- Review project schedules to ensure timely completion
- Supervise project activities and coordinate with project engineers and clients
- Conduct site visits for hands-on knowledge of substation construction
Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
