CAD Designer

Summary: Seeking an experienced CAD Designer/Drafter with proficiency in SolidWorks to develop detailed production drawings and support engineering processes.

Requirements:

• AAS Degree or equivalent experience in a related field

• Minimum 2 years of experience with 3D Solid Modeling software, preference for Solidworks proficiency

• Mechanical aptitude with ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

• Knowledge of CAD/CAM equipment and its relation to manufacturing processes

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities:

• Prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams using CAD equipment

• Ensure all technical drawings are detailed with necessary views and dimensions for manufacturing

• Maintain updated drawing database and manage revisions

• Collaborate with engineers or supervisors when complex problems arise

• Utilize SolidWorks CAD for design development and revision of production drawings

• Compute angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and hole locations for machine designs

• Draft detailed multi-view drawings of machinery and products from sketches or descriptions

• Convert existing production drawings to SolidWorks format as needed

• Generate bill of materials for the Purchasing Department to aid in procurement processes

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
