CAD Drafter

Summary: Seeking a CAD Drafter with a background in sheet metal component detailing and proficiency in SolidWorks Sheetmetal package to assist in manufacturing engineering.

Job Requirements:

• Experience with CAD for product drawing creation from customer prints

• SolidWorks Sheetmetal package expertise required; AutoCAD experience beneficial

• Proficiency in MS Excel

• Ability to communicate effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience programming CNC laser parts from DXF/DWG files is advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided

• Familiarity with weldments, sheetmetal, and metal fabrication terminology

Job Responsibilities:

• Program CNC laser parts using provided training, with previous experience considered a plus

• Review engineering drawings for accuracy before release

• Produce precise layouts, flats, assembly drawings, and details based on instructions from engineers and executives

• Perform clerical duties such as filing, organizing shop routings, and minor data entry

Additional Notes:

• The position is a 6-month contract-to-direct opportunity; no permanent hire initially

• An interview process that includes an onsite interview and drawing test is required

• Candidates must be able to start ASAP within 2 weeks notice period

• The role includes a pre-screen math test and a specific question about K factor usage in sheet metal design

 

 

 

 

Pay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour
